World’s regional airline associations issued a joint statement concerning the need for a single approach of the whole global airline indus¬try toward climate changes. The statement is connected with the forthcoming International Civil Aviation Organization meeting.

The declaration includes a three-step agenda aimed at reducing aviation industry’s negative impact on climate change. to be implemented by air carriers globally: 1.5% improvement in fuel efficiency annually from 2010, a cap on net carbon emissions from 2020 through carbon-neutral growth, and a 50% reduction in carbon emissions by 2050, compared with 2005 levels.
