To attract the interest of carri­ers, airports invest in new tech­nologies for better operational efficiency and environmental protection.

We recently wrote about the offshore energy supply systems for ships moor­ing in the port (see article: “Cold ironing can reduce air pollution and noise at the port” in BTJ 3/2008). Apparently such prod­uct compounds are also available for airports, and their concept is quite similar: to shorten fuel con­sumption, minimize gas emissions to the atmos­phere, lower the noise level and cut some opera­tional costs.
